William Clay Poe, Professor of Archaeology in the Department of History at Sonoma State University presented a talk entitled “Geographic Information Systems for Documentary and Analytic Archaeology.” Dr. Poe described GPS-based mapping projects on several sites in South and Central America, Peru, Belize and Guatemala. Dr. Poe holds a Ph.D. in Mediterranean Studies from Brandeis University as well as a number of other academic degrees.
